Thieves may have resold them to a store, may be stockpiling them, or may be attempting to tamper with them offline. In our latest recovery story, it was a two weeks after a residential burglary when the stolen laptop made its first post-theft connection. We were able to gather basic information about the suspect, putting together information for the local police department to obtain a warrant.
We were notified that the suspect identified as using the stolen laptop is also a suspect in a homicide from a relative of the victim.
Local police were able to recover the stolen laptop and arrest the suspect for breaking & entering a dwelling. Other investigations are ongoing.
